Favourite object or taonga
Elephant - my childhood included riding one at the zoo So I just love the elephant exhibit on the gallery upstairs.
Favourite part or exhibit of the museum
The building exterior because it tells the stories of the fields of war, New Zealand flora and fauna, and the service men/women who were involved in our war efforts. The inside gallery with the stained glass depicting values, and the statue of David and his sling for the joy of overcoming an immense enemy.
Fun fact
My mum taught us kids to do the pat the head while rubbing the tummy! Also the song "do your ears hang low", and a rhyme or two from the past! I like the "oldie but goodie days" of yesteryear.
