This programme is for the following year groups: Years 1-12

Have you ever wondered what a customary Māori sail looks like? Come with us on a journey of discovery as we explore the sole remaining customary Maori sail called Te Rā and two younger sibling sails made recently by Te Rā Ringa Raupā. In this hour-long session students will learn about the history, materials, design, and methods used in the construction of the sails. Students will also get a chance to get up close to and handle Auckland Museum’s education handling collection.

Please note: minimum 20 students, maximum 30 students per session
